Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Bet Like This collects, why we use it, and what rights you have when you use the platform.

Last updated: March 27, 2026

Who we are

Bet Like This is a social platform where users can share betting opinions, follow tipsters, and subscribe to premium picks. This policy applies when you join the waitlist, create an account, browse the platform, publish content, or contact us.

If you have questions about privacy or data protection, you can contact us at rasmus@copendev.dk.

What we collect

  • Contact and account details such as email address, name, username, password hash, and waitlist status.
  • Profile details such as bio, birthday, location, avatar, betting preferences, and optional social handles.
  • User content such as betting posts, comments, likes, follows, verification reports, and other activity inside the platform.
  • Payment and subscription records connected to Stripe, including customer IDs, subscription status, payout setup, and related metadata.
  • Device and notification data such as push subscription endpoints, browser or platform details, and notification preferences.
  • Security and usage data such as IP-based rate limiting signals, authentication events, and activity logs.
  • Uploaded files such as profile images.

How we use personal data

  • To create and manage accounts, profiles, subscriptions, and creator payouts.
  • To operate the feed, social features, notifications, verification flows, and support processes.
  • To send transactional emails such as waitlist confirmations, invitations, account notices, and billing-related updates.
  • To protect the service against abuse, fraud, spam, and unauthorized access.
  • To understand product usage and improve the platform.

Legal bases

  • Contract: when data is needed to provide the service you request, including accounts, subscriptions, and creator payments.
  • Legitimate interests: when we keep the platform secure, prevent abuse, moderate content, and improve the service.
  • Consent: when a feature depends on consent, for example optional marketing or future non-essential tracking technologies.
  • Legal obligations: when we must keep records for accounting, tax, dispute handling, or other legal compliance reasons.

Processors and third parties

  • Stripe for payments, subscriptions, and creator payouts.
  • Resend for transactional email delivery.
  • UploadThing for media uploads.
  • Vercel Analytics for aggregated product analytics in production.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that help operate the app securely.

Cookies and similar storage

Bet Like This uses a small number of cookies and browser storage items to keep the service working. This includes session cookies for authentication and local or session storage for things like language preference, interface state, and bet-slip state.

The production app also uses Vercel Web Analytics. Based on Vercel's current documentation, this is designed to provide aggregated analytics without third-party cookies. If Bet Like This adds non-essential tracking or marketing technologies later, we will add an appropriate consent flow before those technologies are activated.

Retention

  • Account and profile data is kept while your account remains active and for a limited period afterwards where needed for security, disputes, or legal compliance.
  • Billing and payout records may be kept for longer where tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations require it.
  • Waitlist records are kept until an account is created, the entry is no longer needed, or you ask for deletion where applicable.
  • Security and abuse-prevention logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

Your rights

  • You may request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • You may ask us to correct inaccurate data or delete data where deletion is legally available.
  • You may object to certain processing or ask us to restrict it in some situations.
  • Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
  • If you are in the EU or EEA, you may also complain to your local supervisory authority, including Datatilsynet in Denmark.

International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, Bet Like This will rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product, vendors, or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be available on this page.
